In Japan, Surprising Title Beats Bayonetta 3 & Modern Warfare 2 On The Sales Charts!

Indeed, even the latest releases cannot take the top spot from a game selling like hotcakes week after week in Japan.

There is no doubt that Japan is a paradise for video games. No other island can support so many developers and release so many exclusive games. (Just think of Square Enix.) Yet the idea doesn’t seem as solid as it once did.

Since its release on September 9, Splatoon 3 has continued to top the charts in Japan.

As every week, Famitsu brings us the bestsellers of the past week (24-30 October) in Japan. This time, there are some new additions to the list. Bayonetta 3, Star Ocean: The Divine Force and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 are also on the list. However, none of these three titles managed to take the top spot from Splatoon 3, which has been at the top of the list since its release.

Eight titles debuted in the updated list. However, some titles deserve a special mention, such as Bayonetta 3, which sold 41 285 units last week. Modern Warfare 2 also takes two spots on PS4 (24,371) and PS5 (17,710). Persona 5 Royal dropped a few places from last week but remained a solid seller. The same is true for Splatoon 3, with over 50,000 units sold.
