Channing Tatum Gets Paid Like Never Before For His Next Movie!

MOVIE NEWS – Channing Tatum is reportedly set to receive $25 million for his role in Amazon’s spy thriller Red Shirt.

After a competitive bidding war, Amazon Studios has cast Channing Tatum in the lead role of Red Shirt. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the deal will see the critical cast members receive more than $50 million – with Tatum receiving $25 million for his performance at the height of his career.

The report calls the deal “one of the highest, if not the highest”, paid for an original screenplay in Hollywood deal history. Tatum, who will work with writer-producer Simon Kinberg (Rescue Expedition, Logan) and director David Leitch (Deadpool 2) on the spy thriller, reportedly closed the deal the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Tatum also recently made waves with the first trailer for the third and final instalment in the Magic Mike series, titled Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

In this final episode, Tatum’s title character Mike is finally seen in a relationship. The film also takes the series overseas to London. The first Magic Mike was released a decade ago and was based partly on Tatum’s experiences as an eighteen-year-old male stripper in Tampa, Florida. The film proved to be a dream hit. It earned more than $167 million on a $7 million budget. The sequel, Magic Mike XXL, was released three years later.

The story of Channing Tatum’s character Mike Lane ends here. But director Steven Soderbergh had previously announced plans for further instalments in the franchise, with stories based around other characters.

Magic Mike’s Last Dance will be released in US cinemas on 10 February 2023. Future streaming plans have not yet been revealed.
