Will Naughty Dog’s Next Game Be More Like A TV Series?!

Naughty Dog’s game in development will look more like a TV series than anything else the studio has released so far.

A recent interview reveals that Naughty Dog’s next game will be structured like a TV series.

Most recently, Naughty Dog has become known for its work on the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises, with the studio releasing The Last of Us Part I in early 2022.

As reported by Push Square, Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann gave an interview with The New Yorker about the upcoming TV series based on The Last of Us. Much of the article is about the TV series. But right at the end, fans will notice some new information about a Naughty Dog game in development. Druckmann confirms that his next project will be a game “based more on a TV show” than anything else the studio is making. He also mentions that he is not working alone or with a single partner on the script. Naughty Dog has assembled an actual writing collective for the next game.

The interview doesn’t reveal much about Naughty Dog’s upcoming game. So fans will have to wait for the official announcement. For now, users can only speculate about the game’s background, which is planned to be similar to the TV series. It is unlikely to be an episodic release like the original Life is Strange or the titles made by Telltale Games.

Although the PS5 is over two years old, Naughty Dog has yet to release a new game for Sony’s latest console.

The Last of Us Part I is a remake of an older title. The first new release will likely be a multiplayer project set in the same universe. The next game from Naughty Dog has been rumoured for some time. According to the latest leaks, it’s a new fantasy IP. One leak also mentioned that a third game in The Last of Us series is in the works. Maybe that’s what Druckmann was referring to in the interview.
