A developer at Player First Games has hinted that Breaking Bad’s Walter White could join the MultiVersus roster sometime in 2023.

 

 

A MultiVersus developer recently hinted that the famous character from Breaking Bad could join the fighting game’s roster in 2023. Walter White has become one of the most popular memes around MultiVersus. He has been expected to appear practically since the game’s release. Initially, of course, he was asked to join the MultiVersus roster more as a joke than anything else. But the meme’s popularity made it clear that Breaking Bad’s villainous methamphetamine maker would be a very successful addition.

Developer Player First Games has been aggressively adding new characters to MultiVersus since the game’s release.

These characters are from the Warner Bros. multiverse. Rick and Morty joined the list after the launch. So did “The Rock’s” Black Adam. Gizmo and Stripe from Gremlins were also added to MultiVersus. Even Lebron James, who stars in Space Jam: A New Legacy, is part of the roster. This shows that everyone is welcome to join the brawler.

MultiVersus’ lead character artist Dan Eder recently fired up hopes for White’s New Year debut with a post on Twitter. Player First Games wished everyone a happy New Year in a post promising “big surprises”. A fan account set up expressly to ask for White to be in MultiVersus replied, “The only way I’ll have a good 2023 is if we see Walter White join MultiVersus.” Eder replied to the fan account with the message, “Expect good things.”

Of course, Eder doesn’t explicitly say that Walter White will be joining MultiVersus. His message had no promises and plenty of ambiguity, but fans welcomed it anyway.

Game development is a complicated business, however, and Eder is a concept designer, not the game director of MultiVersus. Even if Eder knew in advance that White was being worked on at Player First Games, that doesn’t mean the character will ever be finished. Or that Warner Bros. has fully approved the character’s inclusion. In other words, a lot could go wrong, even if Eder says that Walter White is scheduled for a 2023 release.

All fans of MultiVersus can do is continue to ask Player First Games and Warner Bros. to add their favourite to the game. Joking around, sharing memes, and making sure the MultiVersus game is there will ensure that Player First Games listens and does what it can to make the game exactly what fans want – even if fans want to see Walter White get beat up by Superman.
