Returnal: The PC System Requirements Slightly Got Lowered [VIDEO]

Housemarque has announced what kind of machine you need to run Returnal. We can tell you in advance that it’s a much lower bar than Forspoken’s hair-raising system requirements!

 

Those who pre-order the game will get the Electropylon Driver and Hollowseeker weapons, a Reflex Stimulant, but there will also be an Adrenaline Booster and a Pulsating Mass artifact. Those who link their Steam account to PlayStation Network will also get the ASTRA Model 9 Prototype Suit and ASTRA Model 14 Tactical Suit in-game, available on PlayStation 5 since April 30, 2021.

 

Minimum system requirements – 720p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, with low graphics settings:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1903)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 (4-core, 2.7 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (4-core, 3.5 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (with 6 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (with 8 GB VRAM)
  • Free storage: 60 GB (SSD recommended!)

 

Medium system requirements – 1080p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, with medium graphics settings:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1903)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 (6-core, 2.8 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (6-core, 3.4 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (with 8 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT (with 6 GB VRAM)
  • Free storage: 60 GB on SSD

 

Recommended system requirements – 1080p resolution, 60 FPS frame rate with high graphics settings:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1903)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 (6-core, 3.7 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (8-core, 3.7 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 16 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super (with 8 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6700 (with 12 GB VRAM)
  • Free storage: 60 GB on SSD

 

Epic system requirements – 4K resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, with “epic” graphics settings:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1903)
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K (8-core, 3.7 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (8-core, 3.6 GHz) or better
  • Memory: 32 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (with 10 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT (with 16 GB VRAM)
  • Free storage: 60 GB on SSD

 

System requirements for ray tracing – 4K resolution, 60 FPS frame rate, with “epic” graphics settings:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 x64 (v1903)
  • Processor: Intel Core i9-11900K (8-core, 3.5GHz) or AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12-core, 3.7GHz) or better
  • Memory: 32 GB DDR4 RAM
  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (with 12 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT (with 16 GB VRAM)
  • Free storage: 60 GB on SSD

 

In the PC version, you’ll be able to track achievements; five graphics presets, display your frame rate, CPU and GPU utilization, and latency (lag). 16:10, 21:9, and 32:9 aspect ratios are supported, and ray-traced reflections and shadows can be enabled for those with a good PC. Nvidia’s DLSS and NIS, as well as AMD’s FSR technologies, are also included. DualSense can also be used, but for the complete experience, connect it to your PC via cable. In co-op, there will also be a ping system. In the alternative firing mode, the crosshairs will also indicate how far the weapon is charged. In co-op, Challenge mode, Tower of Sisyphus, and House sequences will not be available, and there will be no way to play alongside PlayStation 5 players…

Returnal will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store from February 15.
