Marvel’s Midnight Suns: Venom DLC Is Coming – We Even Know When!

Classic Spider-Man villain Venom will finally join the cast of Marvel’s Midnight Suns as a recruitable hero in the upcoming Redemption DLC pack.

Venom’s character has been officially unveiled as the content for the upcoming DLC for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, arriving on February 23. Developed by Firaxis, the game takes a different approach to superhero combat.

Midnight Suns has received critical praise, but that praise hasn’t translated into sales.

The game is published by Take-Two Interactive, whose CEO Strauss Zelnick recently called Midnight Suns a “commercial failure”.

The Redemption DLC, scheduled for release on February 23, will give Midnight Suns players a chance to add fan-favourite Spider-Man villain Venom to their team. The classic nemesis will finally join the roster of Marvel characters as a recruitable hero. In comic book history, Eddie Brock was a journalist and rival to Peter Parker. After coming into contact with a sentient, inky black, alien gooey mass called a symbiote, Eddie and the symbiote merged into a single malevolent entity calling itself Venom. In the Redemption DLC, Eddie will attempt to atone as Venom for his actions while imprisoned by Lilith, the main villain of Marvel’s Midnight Suns, during the primary campaign of the base game.

The DLC includes ten hero abilities, a host of new cosmetics and three new story missions. These add more stories to the massive narrative content in the base game. The DLC also includes an Abbey upgrade, which adds a Whisper Web area to the shared superhero hangout. All new content will be immediately available to Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass holders. Redemption is the second in a planned series of Midnight Suns DLC packs.

The previously released DLC pack featuring Deadpool, titled The Good, The Bad, and The Undead, received favourable reviews from critics and stands at a Metacritic score of 75.

Subsequent DLCs include a pack focusing on the vampire Morbius. The last one focuses on fan-favourite X-Men alum Storm. All the game’s DLC packs are scheduled for release in 2023.
