PlayStation Plus: The Whole March Essential And A Partial Extra/Premium List

Sony has broken with tradition, and instead of announcing the PlayStation Plus Essential list on the Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month and then confirming two/three weeks later what the second (Extra) and third (Premium) tiers of the monthly fee service receives, the company has done so partially earlier.

Perhaps because it has been the case with Sony on numerous occasions (roughly every time over the last year or so) that billbil-kun has announced on Dealabs and Twitter up to 3-4 days before official confirmation what games PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers can add to their catalog (for as long as they remain subscribers), we’ve slowly got used to believing what’s leaked. Sony should have some control over their internal communications because, somehow, the leaks are unstoppable.

That’s why they brought forward to State of Play (which we either didn’t watch due to video editing or were asleep, depending on the person you asked) the announcement of the entire March PlayStation Plus Essential line-up. Sony partially revealed what PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium subscribers would have access to (could just say Extra, because unfortunately, none of the five games mentioned are PlayStation/PlayStation 2/PlayStation 3/PlayStation Portable titles).

PlayStation Plus Essential is offering these games in March: Battlefield 2042 (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Code Vein (PlayStation 4), and Minecraft Dungeons (PlayStation 4). Battlefield 2042 is a big flop, and it wants to be the flagship title for the first month of spring (games can be added to your account for free from March 7 until April 3). And for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, there’s also Ghostwire: Tokyo (PlayStation 5), Immortals: Fenyx Rising (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4), Tchia (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 – this game launches on PlayStation Plus!), Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction (PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4) and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection (PlayStation 5).

We’ll see what else they have in store for Extra/Premium subscribers…
