Resident Evil 4 Remake: A Demo And The Mercenaries Mode Confirmed [VIDEO]

Inexplicably left out of the Resident Evil 3 Remake, the Mercenaries game mode will return in the fourth remake. Good call.

In the third Resident Evil 4 Remake trailer, Leon S. Kennedy explores more environments and runs into Jack Krauser. During their harrowing escape from a small European village subjected to Las Plagas, Leon and his to-be-protected partner, Ashley Graham, must navigate multiple environments controlled by the Los Iluminados cult. The castle and the mines hide many dangers, including insidious enemies fortified by the Las Plagas parasite. They must untangle the knot of hidden mechanisms, esoteric puzzles, and tantalizing secrets.

Capcom has announced that there will be a demo of the game. Still, it hasn’t occurred to the Japanese publisher to say when we can look out for a trial version, into which they’ll surely dump Denuvo in on PC, lest someone should accidentally dare to crack the game when it’s released, as everyone is wary of that, while almost only CD Projekt hasn’t undertaken such DRM efforts. Fortunately for us, Capcom has announced that The Mercenaries mode will come later as free DLC after the game’s release, but we don’t know when to expect it.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will also have a Deluxe Edition version. It will contain additional in-game content, including costumes, weapons, or treasure maps. Pre-ordering the base version will get you the gold attache case and the special charm of the handgun (what the heck is that…?), and pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition will get you the classic attache case and the special charm of the green plant. These customization items offer special in-game abilities, Capcom claims.

Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released on March 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam) and PlayStation 4. The demo should be playable around mid-March, but Capcom will let us know. It would make sense before the game’s release unless they’re afraid of criticism…
