The Flash Goes Back in Time: How the DC World Changes [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – DC Studios’ latest superhero movie, The Flash, will hit theaters in 2023 and promises nothing less than a time-traveling adventure in which the lightning-fast Barry Allen tries to prevent his mother’s murder. But with this, he falls into an alternate reality where there are no metahumans, and he needs help. The first trailer of the film is now available online.

The movie Flash has been in the works for years, with several directors and screenwriters taking turns in the project. Andy Muschietti (Az) eventually took over with a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). Starring Ezra Miller (League) returns as Barry Allen / The Flash, who gets his own movie in the 13th installment of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). This brand new trailer was recently uploaded to the Flash movie Twitter page:

The film is based on the comic book series Flashpoint, in which Barry goes back in time to save his mother, only to create a world where everything was different. No Superman, no Wonder Woman, no Aquaman. Only an older Batman (Michael Keaton) helps him get back to his own world. But he’s not the only one wearing a bat mask: Ben Affleck also returns as Batman for a brief cameo.

Another big surprise of the film is Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless), who plays Supergirl. She will be the first Latin American actress to play the Kryptonian girl. And the villain of the film is Michael Shannon (The Man of Steel), who plays General Zod again.

The Flash will debut in American theaters on June 16, 2023, and is expected to hit theaters worldwide.
