The Last Of Us-Inspired Haunted House To Be Built By Universal Studios?! [VIDEO]

MOVIE NEWS – This year’s Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios will include a haunted house based on the PlayStation series The Last of Us.

Universal Studios has revealed that it is building a haunted house based on The Last of Us. The attraction, which is part of the studio’s annual Halloween Horror Nights event, has been welcomed by both the game and the creators of the HBO series.

Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights started in 1991 and soon grew into an annual tradition of Halloween-themed haunted houses and scares featuring characters from licensed films such as Halloween and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in Universal’s parks.

With the overwhelming success of The Last of Us video games and television series, it was only a matter of time before Universal incorporated the iconography of the hugely popular franchise into its annual Halloween event. The series will be incorporated as a haunted house in parks in both Hollywood, California and Orlando, Florida. Guests will be able to navigate a series of spooky corridors and tunnels in Pittsburgh’s Quarantine Zone. These will be full of monsters infested with the mutant fungus from the games. Clickers, Stalkers and Runners, for example.

Guests will also be able to meet series stars Joel and Ellie in the haunted house. They’re on the run from the creatures and the creepy team of humans known as The Hunters, who are hot on their trail. In a statement, series creator Neil Druckmann expressed his excitement about The Last of Us’ inclusion in this year’s Halloween Horror Nights. He described himself as a fan and frequent visitor.

The haunted house will be open on select nights during this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, which will run from September 1 to October 31.

A second season of the HBO adaptation is currently scheduled for sometime in 2025. But that could be delayed by the ongoing Writers Guild of America strike. The third episode of the series, “Long, Long Time,” has received praise from fans and critics, and series co-creator Craig Mazin even received a letter from legendary director Steven Spielberg praising his work on the episode.
