Xbox owners with an Xbox Live Gold subscription can now get their hands on this award-winning title for free.

ComicBook reports that Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now get the excellent action-adventure game The Vale: Shadow of the Crown for free.

In case you’re not familiar, the title is developed by indie studio Falling Squirrel and puts players in the shoes of a blind adventurer. The audio game is fully accessible to the visually impaired! Nominated for the Innovation in Accessibility Award at The Game Awards 2021. True, it lost out to Forza Horizon 5. However, it later won the Canadian Screen Award for Best Video Game Narrative.

“The Vale: Shadow of the Crown is a story driven, action-adventure that utilises the full potential of 3D audio and haptic controller feedback to deliver visceral gameplay that shatters the barrier between player and character,” the game’s synopsis on the Microsoft Store reads. “As an audio based game, The Vale sets out to breathe new life into medieval combat and provide a truly novel experience for visually impaired and sighted gamers alike.”

If you’re already an Xbox Live Gold subscriber, you can claim The Vale: Shadow of the Crown for free now. You have until 15 July to do so. Once you’ve claimed it, you can play it anytime (provided you’re still subscribed to the service).
