PlayStation Plus Essential: The July 2023 Line-Up

It’s the Wednesday before the first Tuesday of the month, so as usual, it’s time for Sony to reveal the three games all PlayStation Plus subscribers can access.

June was a bit of an unusual situation, as for over a year before that, Billbil-kun hadn’t leaked the June PlayStation Plus Essential list via the French website Dealabs and on Twitter (so it came as a surprise to us to find out what the three games are that can still be added to your account for a few days, to download whenever you still have a PlayStation Plus subscription, regardless of its tier).

However, the trusty leaker is at it again, as just a few minutes after 12:30 pm, he’s already listed the three games we can spend July with. All three games will be available on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4. Still, one will be available to subscribers on PlayStation 4 and run on Sony’s current-gen console thanks to backwards compatibility. It will be indicated in the game in question.

So the highlight of the month will be Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War (this will be the PlayStation 4 version!), which, according to the leak, will also offer the Confrontation weapon pack (two blueprints), and Captain Price’s legendary skin. The second game is more relevant. Epic Games likely paid for it because while the sequel is coming in the autumn, they want to draw attention to Alan Wake Remastered (the company headed by Tim Sweeney will publish this and Alan Wake II). The third game on our list will be Endling – Extinction Is Forever. Sony’s post confirmed it.

There’s still until Monday to add the June offer to your account. As a reminder, here are the three games (all three available for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4): NBA 2K23 (if you haven’t got hooked on gambling, you can now catch up), Jurassic World Evolution 2, and Trek to Yomi.
