MOVIE NEWS – Fans are worried because the thriller titled “Five Nights at Freddy’s” received a mild, PG-13 rating in the U.S., leading many to conclude that the film won’t be violent enough.

After all, this adaptation of the cult video game is about a night security guard battling terrifying animatronics that come to life in the pizzeria entrusted to him, which used to entertain families during its golden days. However, ScreenRant points out that the concern is unfounded, as the video game did not create tension through gore, but scared players by having a psychedelic-faced, oversized plush bear jump out from a dark corner at any moment.

The reputation of the company producing “Five Nights at Freddy’s” adds to the promise of horror. Blumhouse has released films with softer ratings that successfully scared the audience, such as the recent “M3GAN,” and before that, “Happy Death Day!” 1 & 2. These films did not exploit viewers’ nerves with sensational on-screen murders, but with masterfully dosed tension – after all, what we fear the most is what we can’t see, but sense it’s about to give us a fright.
