Microsoft has confirmed that a critically-acclaimed, award-winning game will join the Xbox Game Pass line-up in September 2023.

 

 

Award-winning Gris is confirmed to arrive on Xbox Game Pass on September 5. Microsoft tends to focus its Game Pass unveilings on a month-by-month basis. However, there are occasions when Microsoft breaks this pattern and announces a new game a little earlier.

It’s not clear exactly why Microsoft decided to announce Gris for Xbox Game Pass in its post revealing new games for the second half of August 2023.

But fans can now mark their calendars accordingly. For those unfamiliar with the game, Gris was one of the most-rated new game releases of 2018. A platform adventure game with a compelling narrative. Gris arrived on Xbox consoles just over four years after its initial release on other platforms.

Now Xbox gamers who missed out on buying it can try the game through Game Pass and see if it lives up to the hype. When Gris joins the Xbox Game Pass on September 5, the game will be available in the cloud, on Xbox consoles and on PC.

Gris could be a great addition to September’s Game Pass offer. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. September 2023 will be a particularly rich month for Game Pass. That’s because Starfield is scheduled to join the subscription service on September 6. Just one day after Gris. Starfield is one of the most hyped video games of recent years, and one of the biggest Xbox console exclusives for quite some time.

There’s clearly a lot riding on Starfield, but while it has faltered here and there, Bethesda has typically delivered.

Starfield and Gris alone would make September 2023 a memorable September for Game Pass. However, there’s even more in store for subscribers next month. Bloodborne-style first-day game Lies of P will join the service on September 19, while party game Party Animals will arrive on September 20. Payday 3 joins Game Pass on September 21, and finally, Cocoon comes on September 29.
