Has Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s Release Date Leaked?

The game will be at an event soon, but it’s not officially confirmed which one (and no, it’s not Gamescom!).

The game’s Twitter accoun posted a few days ago hinting that the long-awaited re-reveal, could happen at a US event, PAX West 2023 in Seattle. The tweet promises plenty of surprises and unveilings. It doesn’t mention the game directly, but the community manager on Discord answered a question about it with an eyes emoji, and Paradox mentioned September in its latest official announcement. When is PAX West 2023? Between September 1 and 4…

PAX West would be an apt location because when Hardsuit Labs (the original development team for the game) revealed the story for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, it was set in Seattle, and there’s a good chance the location hasn’t changed. The game was announced almost four and a half years ago (in March 2019) as part of an ARG (alternate reality game) when they were looking for applicants for a matchmaking app, Tender, to pair them up with each other based on their blood type. Brian Mitsoda was also back to write the second story after the first episode, but the release, scheduled for the first quarter of 2020, was changed to the end of 2020 and then to 2021.

Then Mitsoda and Ka’ai Cluney (creative director) left. A few months later, the publisher, Paradox Interactive (who also owns the World of Darkness IP), replaced Hardsuit Labs to develop the game (which was postponed indefinitely). Still, the project was saved after another studio’s idea was agreed to by the publisher (Paradox CEO Fredrik Wester said at the end of 2021 that they were considering cancellation).

However, it has emerged on Twitter that the Plaion Store (who recently leaked the release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2) has set Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Unsanctioned Edition for October 27, although they have since changed that date. Anyway, some pictures and the Steelbook have been leaked!
