MOVIE NEWS – Ahsoka has already shown how she’s been empowered during Star Wars, but there’s one Force ability she’s now wielding with dangerous fascination. (WARNING: This article contains spoilers for episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka.)

 

 

In the Ahsoka series, the title character seems to have a new Force ability that may eventually pave her way to the dark side. Ahsoka Tano has grown tremendously in her abilities and powers, and her relationship with the Force has been perfected over the years since she became Anakin Skywalker’s padawan. Thanks to her training and natural abilities, Ahsoka defeated Darth Maul and, survived Order 66, and later took on Darth Vader on Malachor.

Episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka have already revealed how the title character’s power has grown in the Force since the plot of Star Wars Rebels.

Her fighting style reflected this, showing a new intensity as she sought to track down Thrawn. In one scene, we even see her effortlessly dodge the mysterious Marrok Inquisitor’s spinning lightsaber as it flies past her from behind. All this shows how deeply connected she is to the Force. In season 2 of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka spoke to Grogu simply through the Force. She was able to learn her name and give details of her past. All of these powers are impressive, but there is one Force Power that Ahsoka can now use dangerously.

Ahsoka has shown that she can hear the voices of the past. We saw this most notably in the Temple of the Nightsisters on Arcana and during Shin and Sabine’s duel on Lothal. This is a variant of the ability called psychometry, similar to what Cal Kestis used in the Star Wars Jedi games. It allows the holder of the ability not only to hear, but also relive the past. Not only is this ability incredibly rare, but it can also be dangerous for the user.

 

Why might Ahsoka’s new Force ability lead her to the dark side?

 

Experiencing the past is much different than seeing it, as the holder of the ability can feel all the emotions of what has happened. This could lead our hero down a dangerous path. Strong emotions can be a gateway to the dark side. This is especially true for events that have already happened, as is the other extreme for events we see in the future.

Ahsoka must, therefore, be cautious when using this Force power, otherwise, she risks going down a similar path as her old master.

As Ahsoka is extremely cautious in this area, it is unlikely that she would just make such a mistake. But her zeal to rid the galaxy of the threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn could be an irresistible temptation to do anything. Her own past tragedies, which have been caused by the war, may make her even more determined to do things she previously thought unthinkable. There is no doubt that Ahsoka’s new Force power is exciting and valuable, but the series may show its costly consequences if she continues to use it in her search for Thrawn.
