Microsoft is once again updating its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, this time adding a co-operative shooter for subscribers.

Microsoft has again updated the range of games available through its Xbox Game Pass subscription service. This time, they’ve added a co-operative game in the form of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is debuting on Xbox as part of Game Pass. So, arguably, it’s still a day-one game, although it’s actually been available on PC for about a year.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide was first released on PC last year. Initially, the game was planned to be released on PC and consoles simultaneously, but the Xbox Series X version was ultimately delayed.

Those with a PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription have already been able to play Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on PC through their subscription, but now Xbox gamers can finally get in on the action.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is now available for all Game Pass levels. Darktide is a cooperative shooter set in the popular Warhammer 40K universe. The PC version received mixed reviews when it was first released. But since then, updates have been released for the game that should make it a better experience now than it was a year ago. It should be noted that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is a next-gen game. While there is a native Xbox Series X version of the game to play, there is no Xbox One equivalent.

However, it is still technically possible for Xbox One players to play Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. At least if they have signed up for Game Pass Ultimate. It just so happens that Warhammer 40,000: Darktide has been included in the Xbox Cloud Gaming initiative! This means that it can be played on older hardware via the cloud.

It may not be the ideal way to play, but it’s certainly better than nothing for those who haven’t upgraded to the latest Xbox consoles.

Game Pass subscribers can expect a few more games when the first wave of October 2023 additions roll out, with the October 2023 additions being the racing game Forza Motorsport. It will be released on October 10. Forza will be followed by From Space on October 12, while Like a Dragon: Ishin will join the Game Pass line-up on October 17. Xbox Game Pass will add more games in the second half of October 2023, with a few games dropping from the service this month.
