Do We Know When Spider-Man 4 Starring Tom Holland Can Be Expected?!

MOVIE NEWS – Spider-Man fans can be excited about the new film trilogy with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, but they may not be happy with the timeline that has been outlined for the arrival of Spider-Man 4.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 may finally be back in the writers’ room after the WGA strike. However, fans still have to wait a long time for the film to be completed and go into production.

After carrying the overarching story started in Homecoming through two more films, Spider-Man 4 was in the works before the WGA strike brought the industry to a standstill.

Although Kevin Feige has confirmed that the story for Spider-Man 4 is already done, waiting for the film to be developed and released will be quite an ordeal for fans. According to a reliable source, Daniel Richtman, according to the timeline of events, the project could start shooting at the end of 2024 at the earliest. Expect an even longer wait if the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike is not resolved immediately. Delays in finalizing the script, casting and pre-production could mean that the fourth instalment of Holland’s role as Spider-Man may not hit theatres until sometime in 2026. This means a 5-year break after the previous part.

Back in July 2022, it was in the news that Holland had not signed on for Spider-Man 4. This almost certainly hasn’t changed due to the ongoing strike. Because it excludes such activity. While the role could be recast, it’s a tall order. Especially after the overwhelming success of the Holland-led trilogy and the character’s integration into the MCU. How the character may be featured in future MCU projects will largely determine what kind of stories unfold in a possible second film trilogy that Holland may star in.

All signs point to the esteemed star signing on for more films, as he hinted before the strike began, alongside co-star Zendaya and several other talented names.

While the wait for Spider-Man 4 can be daunting for fans of the wall-crawler, it would be best if the film was given some space and time. Without new ideas, it is impossible to repeat the success of the phenomenal Spider-Man: No Way Home. Plus, it’s wise for Sony to leave Spider-Man out of the villain spinoffs. This gave the creatives more freedom to create a story that aligned with the MCU. Without explaining less fitting additions like Morbius and Venom. We will see in due time how things turn out after the disaster.

A potential glitch in the Spider-Man 4 timeline has been fixed

The MCU’s first Spider-Man movie was generally well-received, but it received a lot of criticism from fans. Some felt that Iron Man should not have been in the film. Fans also had issues with the design of Tom Holland’s suit. Others wanted a more classic Spider-Man origin story. Despite fan criticism, one flaw in the film stood out above the rest and even threatened the entire timeline. Spider-Man: Homecoming opens with a scene that takes place right after the events of The Avengers.

After the scene ends, a time card says we jump forward eight years in time, but the rest of the movie takes place four years later.

Fortunately for fans, Marvel Studios has finally corrected this glaring Spider-Man: Homecoming mistake. They did it in a new book, Marvel Studios’ The Marvel Cinematic Universe – An Official Timeline, published by Dorling Kindersley. Next to the title page, the main villain, Adrien Toomes, writes that he has been active for eight years. On page 173 of the book, Loki’s Miss Minutes explain that this error is due to a missing TVA case file. “Redline alert! Hi again! Adrien Toomes says the Battle of New York was eight years ago, but that event was only four years prior. This one’s a real head-scratcher for us – I reckon an analyst misplaced the case file.”

A misplaced case file probably wasn’t the answer fans were hoping for. But at least Marvel Studios has officially acknowledged its mistake. It’s also great that Marvel Studios has made it official that the movie will take place not 8, but 4 years after the events of The Avengers. With 32 films and 9 streaming series, the MCU timeline can cause enough confusion even without the stumble of Spider-Man: Homecoming…
