Don’t expect Vessel of Hatred in 2023, but at BlizzCon the now Microsoft-owned Blizzard revealed a lot of information about the first expansion for Diablo IV.
The first expansion for Diablo IV will feature hatred (it’s in the title…) and a new character class will be added to the hack’n’slash action RPG. It will be something we haven’t seen before. The setting will be Nahantu, a jungle region. Here we can find out what happened to the Prime Evil Mephisto after the events of the base game. In addition to the announcement video, it’s also worth taking a look at the leak that appeared a few weeks ago…
Nahantu also appeared in the MMO Champions post, so the leak could be completely authentic. According to the post, “Nahantu is a land of contrasts, from the green foliage of the Restless Canopy to the barren expanse of the Teganze Plateau. It is home to the Field of Giants, a place of lingering hatred, and the dark depths of the Kurast sewers. Each location offers unique challenges and opportunities for the Spiritborn, whose connection to nature will be tested as never before.
The zone features new quests that will take players on a journey through Nahantu’s many dungeons. From the eerie Forge of Malice and Sleepless Hollow to the haunting Forgotten Remains and Ruined Wild, each dungeon holds danger and treasure in equal measure. The campaign will take players through the Durance of Hate, to the Gates of the Necropolis, into the ethereal Spirit Realm, and finally to the Five Hills – the Tomb of Akarat. Each step of this journey will reveal more about Nahantu’s history and its connection to the Spiritborn. The culmination of Nahantu’s challenges is a new raid centred on Khazra. With five wings to conquer, this raid will push even the most experienced adventurers to their limits.
So this information is not official, but what is when Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred will be released: we can expect the expansion at the end of 2024. of 2024, so we’re still a year away. It’s likely that the Spiritborn will be will be the new character type, and we almost certainly won’t hear about it officially until until the summer of 2024.
