Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown: Strider-Style Prince [VIDEO]

You could call it Devil May Cry, but Ubisoft’s Montpellier game is more straightforward than that.

Here’s an overview of the game: “Dash into a stylish and exciting action-adventure platform game set in a mythological Persian world where the boundaries of time and space are yours to manipulate. Use your time powers, combat and platforming skills to pull off deadly combos and defeat time-corrupted enemies and mythological creatures. Purchase and equip new amulets from shopkeepers to play as you please.

Explore a cursed, Persian-inspired world filled with larger-than-life landmarks. Explore a variety of highly detailed biomes, each with its own identity, wonders, and dangers. Use your wits to solve puzzles, find hidden treasures, and complete quests to learn more about this corrupt place. Immerse yourself in a Persian mythological fantasy through an intriguing and original story. Cross paths with colorful characters to better unravel the mysteries of Mount Qaf.

Enjoy high-quality graphics, immersive cinematics and fresh artistic direction, as well as unparalleled fluidity thanks to 60 frames per second on all platforms,” Ubisoft wrote. The question is whether all platforms will be able to deliver this level of performance, as we’re talking about a cross-generation game, and because of that, the Nintendo Switch might be one of the consoles where you’ll have to cut back heavily on resolution in addition to visual effects for Ubisoft to keep up…

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will first get a demo on January 11. One week later, on January 18th, the full game will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Store, guaranteed to use Denuvo), PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The overview video is very reminiscent of Strider: Capcom’s franchise had a similar style, except that didn’t play around with time.
