MOVIE NEWS – Republic Pictures’ film, written and directed by Oscar®-winning filmmaker William Friedkin, stars Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Clarke, Jake Lacy, Monica Raymund, Lewis Pullman, Jay Duplass, Tom Riley and Lance Reddick

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, written and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker William Friedkin and based on Herman Wouk’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel of the same name, will be exclusively on SkyShowtime from December 23 available.

The gripping film follows the story of a US Navy first officer who is on trial for masterminding a mutiny after his captain shows signs of mental disorder and endangers the lives of his crew.

The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, featuring a great cast, stars: Kiefer Sutherland (24), Jason Clarke (Oppenheimer), Jake Lacy (White Lotus), Monica Raymund (Chicago Fire), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun : Maverick), Jay Duplass (Transparent), Tom Riley (The Nevers) and Lance Reddick (John Wick).

At the start of the naval court proceedings, Barney Greenwald (Clarke), a skeptical naval lawyer, reluctantly takes on the defense of Lt. Steve Maryk, a Navy first officer who has taken command of the USS CAINE from the tyrannical Lt. Philip Francis Queeg (Sutherland) after sailing into unfriendly waters and a fierce they got into a storm at sea. As the trial progresses, Greenwald becomes increasingly concerned, questioning whether the events aboard the Caine can be considered a true mutiny, or simply the brave actions of a group of sailors who distrusted their unstable leader.

Republic Pictures’ The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial is directed by William Friedkin (The French Connection, The Exorcist) based on the play by Herman Wouk. Written and directed by Friedkin, the film is produced by Annabelle Dunne (Joan Didion: The Center Will Not Hold, Everything Is Copy and Fake Famous) and Matt Parker (Beasts of the Southern Wild), along with Michael Salven (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) and Mike Upton (John Wick) as executive producers. The film is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
