Is Atlus Almost Done With Persona 6?

According to rumors, the SEGA subsidiary will this time add content to what promises to be a huge RPG after its release.

On the ResetEra forum, Head on the Block (formerly I’m a Hero Too) talked about Persona 6. Since he’s proven to be pretty reliable on the franchise so far, it’s worth taking a look at what he reported. According to him, development on Persona 6 (which hasn’t even been announced yet!) is 95% complete. So basically, post-production is underway, followed by testing and bug-fixing.

The other important element is that the game will be released in 2025 and will be followed by DLC. The major DLC will be story add-ons and will not include content that has been cut from the base game. It will be a partially open world game, and Head on the Block has mentioned this before. So for the world design, Atlus has modified the idea they’ve been using since Persona 3. The social connection between the characters will be more dynamic, interaction will be improved, and time constraints are said to be a thing of the past.

In addition to Persona 6, Atlus is also reportedly working on a Persona 2 remaster that will include Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment. Compared to the first installment, these two games no longer use a first-person perspective, so they no longer stand out from the franchise in that respect. Atlus is also planning a remake, as a Persona 4 remake is also reportedly in development. A Persona 2 remaster is closer to release, but it may not come out until after Persona 6 is released, so those will have to wait until Atlus officially announces them.

None of this is official yet, but you can see that Atlus and SEGA are looking to expand the franchise that went mainstream with Persona 5. There is a reason why remakes and remasters are made.
