Beloved characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are set to return in the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again. Charlie Cox, who is reprising his role as the main character, recently announced that his co-stars Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, will return to the series.

Speaking at AwesomeCon, Cox expressed his delight at reuniting with his former co-stars, highlighting the importance of Karen and Foggy to the show, calling them the “heartbeat” of the show.

“Aw it’s so cool, man. So cool. Yeah, it was pretty heartbreaking when they weren’t around initially. When we came back to filming and they had made some changes, which you guys obviously probably read about and stuff, you know, it was clear that Foggy and Karen are kind of the heartbeat of our show. They always were. So [it feels] really special to have them back. Huge shout out to Deborah and to Elden. I know there’s been photos, there were some set photos that came out, so I know I can talk about it because it’s on the internet. But it was really sweet to have some scenes together again.”

Daredevil: Born Again didn’t have the smoothest road to the screen. Concerns that the series would stray from the essence of the original series led to a creative overhaul after the initial episodes were filmed.

Cox’s comments reflect the importance of Foggy and Karen’s return in bringing the series back into line with audience expectations.

The series’ original version reportedly delayed Matt Murdock’s appearance in his iconic suit and excluded several vital characters, risking alienation from the fan base.
