Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days: 2.5D Survival Against Zombies [VIDEO]

The game is being developed by a studio that seems to have been inspired by the name of a popular social networking site, because if you change one letter in the team’s name, you get something used by teenagers these days.

Set in 1980 Texas, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days is a 2.5D side-scrolling action game in which players must guide a group of desperate survivors from shelter to shelter in a besieged city crawling with the undead. Managing the resources and needs of the survivors is crucial as players attempt to stay ahead of the growing threat while executing plans to escape the quarantined city area.

The new gameplay teaser premiered as part of the Kickoff Showcase for The MIX + Kinda Funny Spring Online Showcase 2024. Eager future players were able to see more of the tense atmosphere of Walton City and get their first glimpse of key gameplay mechanics, including crafting food and tools, healing survivors suffering from physical and mental injuries, and fighting zombies in advanced combat using melee weapons and firearms.

The game is being developed by PikPok. After all, we’re just one (or two) T’s away from TikTok, which may not be available in the US. Juliann Lum, Senior Product Manager at PikPok, wrote in the press release: “We’re really excited to be able to share a snippet of what we’ve been working on since our announcement trailer in 2023. So much more has gone into the game, including new ways for survivors to interact with the world around them, each other, and of course the dangerous undead that infest the city of Walton. We hope this teaser gets people excited about the continued progress of our development journey and encourage those interested to follow us on Steam as we reveal more about Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days in the coming months.

Into The Dead: Our Darkest Days is currently available for PC only. A public demo is planned for late 2024, followed by an early access period in 2025.
