Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves: Another SNK Brawler Revived [VIDEO]

SNK was known for a number of fighting games in the 1990s (and was often popular in arcades alongside the Neo Geo), but after Samurai Shodown and The King of Fighters, Fatal Fury will continue.

SNK has announced Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, which combines classic gameplay with the new Rev system. Following the example of Street Fighter 6, there will also be a control scheme aimed at the casual gamer, with Smart Style making it easy to perform special moves without knowing the fighting game genre or its rules. The video also features Terry Bogard, Rock Howard, Hotaru Futaba, Tizoc, and newcomer Preecha.

The Rev System, a toolset making its debut in Fatal Fury, provides unique offensive options from the start of the fight. Players can use Rev Arts, Rev Accel, Rev Blows (while S.P.G. is active), and more until they reach their limit and the Rev Meter overheats. Balance your heat and keep the pressure on your opponent to fight at full throttle! Many classic Fatal Fury fighting systems are back in full force, including Combination Attacks, Just Defense, Braking, Dodging Attacks, and Feints. These systems return after more than 25 years and have been developed for the modern age. Buckle up for red-hot action and competitive fights to the finish!

Players can choose from two control schemes: Arcade Style relies on precise, technical inputs, while Smart Style lets you perform flashy special moves and combos using directional inputs and single button presses. Whether you are new to fighting games or a seasoned veteran, you will find the right controls for your level. So SNK took a page from Capcom’s book.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be released sometime in 2025, but no target platforms have been announced by SNK. Is this because of the Nintendo Switch sequel?
