Three open heart surgeries and a pacemaker didn’t slow Arnold Schwarzenegger down – and he still has his iconic sense of humour, too.

After revealing the interventions earlier this week, the former governor today posted a photo of himself with a message thanking everyone who sent him messages. He assured fans that health issues won’t stop him from filming his Netflix series FUBAR, which was renewed for a second season last year.

“Absolutely not,” Schwarzenegger said of whether he would be prevented from filming. “I will be ready to film in April.”

The actor also served with a bit of levity. The photo he shared shows a reclining Schwarzenegger with a red wire running from his ear that looks like the Looney Tunes version of a time bomb resting on his chest.

He sarcastically wrote about the “pacemaker” that “you can only see it if you’re really looking for it.”

FUBAR centres on a retired CIA agent who discovers a family secret and is forced to return to the field for one last job. The series explores universal family dynamics through the themes of spies, action and humour.

In addition to Schwarzenegger’s leading role, Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Gabriel Luna, Fortune Feimster, Travis Van Winkle, Fabiana Udenio, Barbara Eve Harris, Aparna Brielle, Andy Buckley and Jay Baruchel also appear in the series.

The first season can be viewed on Netflix.
