Gearbox Publishing and Blackbird Interactive have revealed that the game, which has been delayed several times, will not require as powerful a PC as previously thought, and we’ve also learned how the content will be expanded after its release.

 

New challenges and artifacts will arrive as free content in June. In July, a new playable faction and its emblem, new faction starter fleets, and artifacts will be added to Homeworld 3 as paid DLC. In August, a free update will add new challenges, artifacts, maps, and systems. A new playable faction and emblem, as well as new faction starter fleets, will be added in October as paid DLC, followed by new challenges, maps, and content in the final quarter as a free update.

The $175 Collector’s Edition includes a World War II-inspired deck of cards, a Homeworld 3 logo keychain, a 1.2-inch Hiigaran Recon in Delta Formation, a 1.8-inch Hiigaran Torpedo Frigate, a 3-inch Hiigaran Destroyer, an 18×24-inch lithograph, and a 14-inch Khar-Kushan Mothership with LED lights and sounds. Digitally, we’ll also get the Steam code, the first season pass ($20 standalone), ship stickers, icons, banners, name colors in multiplayer, and Paul Ruskay’s soundtrack.
