House of the Dragon: You Won’t Believe Why the Show Has Just Been Attacked…

MOVIE NEWS – House of the Dragon is getting harsh reviews for a very frustrating reason…

House of the Dragon was a massive hit on HBO. But unfortunately, the audience – or a particular part of it – always finds something to complain about. This time, it’s a kiss from the latest episode, “Smallfolk,” that has people outraged and review-bombed the acclaimed series on IMDb. The moment came near the end of the episode when Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy) and Mysaria (Sonoya Mizuno) shared a kiss. Of course, some “fans” immediately freaked out, asking why the “agenda” should be forced in a fantasy series…

According to Vanity Fair, the kiss brought out the worst in people, and IMDb users fumed over the tender moment, which Mizuno says was not scripted. So far, 35.3% of people have given the episode a 1-star rating, while 23.1% have given it 10 stars. According to user ahmedraheemjasim, the moment must “drag the storyline to its doom,” while Rexiony claims that “we continue to watch unnecessary scenes just to make the series 1 season longer.”

“It appears that last-minute script alterations were made by an actress just before filming commenced, leading to an ultimately unsatisfactory outcome,” writes samturkihome, referring to the kiss added by Emma D’Arcy.

User mohareg further adds that he doesn’t want to be bombarded with “hidden messages” while watching TV. “Supporting hidden agendas and messages has gone too far. The presence of series and movies is for entertainment and relaxation from work pressures.”

Other reviews called it the “worst episode ever” and “a very trivial series”.

User Afm-84692 added, “It is very bad because inappropriate scenes were used that do not represent us religiously, ethnically, or socially, and this is unacceptable. Scenes like this are promoted by international platforms to pass this idea on and make it seem normal and unproblematic. Therefore, I say I hope that the next episodes will be free of such content.”

It’s 2024, and the House of the Dragon is under attack over a same-sex kiss

You’d think that by now, people would be used to seeing same-sex romance on screen. After all, “lesbian” was the most viewed category on PornHub in 2023! In light of this, it is surprising that more people do not praise the scene of the House of the Dragon. Unfortunately, some people judge hard-working writers and actors rather than accept that LGBTQ+ people are, in fact, people and have a place in the entertainment industry just like anyone else. This is not an “agenda”, but a representation that Hollywood still struggles with today.

Unfortunately, House of the Dragon is just another series in the line. For example, The Last of Us recently faced backlash for a same-sex relationship, proving that perhaps society hasn’t come as far as we’d like to believe. With news of Benedict and a possible same-sex relationship at the centre of Bridgerton Season 4, we can no doubt expect Netflix to face the same wrath as HBO…
