SEGA Has a Big Plan for Like a Dragon – But What Do Fans Think?!

A survey conducted by SEGA among players revealed that the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series might include world stars or actors as cameos, such as Vin Diesel, Keanu Reeves, Jack Black or even Lionel Messi…

Can you imagine Vin Diesel or Keanu Reeves in a Like a Dragon game? It may sound strange, but SEGA is considering casting world-class actors as cameos in some upcoming Yakuza titles. While nothing is official yet, the fact that the Japanese company is sending out surveys asking about this possibility indicates that there is interest in expanding the franchise’s player base with these exciting cameos.

As reported by GameSpot, Reddit users pointed out that SEGA recently conducted a survey asking fans what they thought of celebrity cameos in Like a Dragon games. As well as whether they can influence their decision to buy the video game.

In the survey, the company asked how they rated some Western celebrities and whether they were interested in appearing in upcoming games.

The list includes such world stars as Mark Hamill, Vin Diesel, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Keanu Reeves, Robert Pattinson, Danny Trejo, Jack Black, Aidan Gallagher and others. There are also famous singers and athletes like Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Simone Biles, Lionel Messi and many more. SEGA provided this list, but there are fans who have already written down which celebrities they would like to see in a Like a Dragon game. For now, fans are divided on the issue, but it seems that the majority would be happy with the cameos.

Ryu Ga Gotoku is about to unveil his next Like a Dragon game

The creators of the Yakuza games, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, announced months ago that we would soon see the announcement of their next game. More precisely, at the Tokyo Game Show 2024 from 26-29 September. Whether this will be another Like a Dragon or a new IP is unknown. But a few days ago, there was news that SEGA had registered ‘Yakuza Wars’ in Japan, which made fans wonder what it might be. That could be one option. However, there is also a chance that they will work on another remake of the series.
