Another day, news of another remastered PlayStation game, but the case of Days Gone has angered gamers…
Days Gone is rumoured to be the next title to receive a PlayStation 5 remaster, and fans are understandably unhappy. The rumour comes from a tweet by VGC’s Jordan Middler, who claims that the 2019 post-apocalyptic open-world title will be the next to undergo a facelift courtesy of Sony.
If true, it’s only been five years since the title was first released on PlayStation 4, but with no plans for a sequel to Bend Studio’s IP, a remaster wouldn’t be surprising.
However, fans are less than happy with many older (and higher-rated) games that could be remastered (ahem, right, Bloodborne?).
Days Gone is not only a relatively new release but also one of the least popular PlayStation IPs. Just last week, we saw how displeased fans were at the news of Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered’s ESRB rating. So we can only imagine how much controversy it will cause if Days Gone really becomes the next one.
The rumour has been making the rounds on social media for the past few days, and players are less than pleased. “I swear down if this is Days Gone I’m not gonna be happy,” said one comment on Twitter.
“We want a sequel not a damn remaster of the game.”
Another wrote: “Wait, so it’s a Days Gone remaster? Doesn’t it already run at 4K at 60fps on the PS5 and has a PC port less than three years old?”
They continued with: “So let me get this straight, the first two games they’ll announce for the PS5 Pro are two remasters of late gen PS4 games? Sony lost their minds.”
A lot of people are unhappy – let’s be honest, rightly so – that titles like Bloodborne, which first came out in 2015 and remains a PS4 exclusive, still haven’t received any news of a remaster or remake. This is true despite it being one of the most sought-after games of all time.
However, Sony seems to have other plans. If the players are so unhappy, you’ll be forced to come up with new ideas.

If he was angry that his character is in Astro Bot, he’s going to lose his mind at this. https://t.co/gbf1ClopvE
