“Haven’t You Learned Anything from Helldivers 2?” – Space Marine 2 Players Outraged by New Nerfs, Review Bombing Incoming!

Space Marine 2 players are outraged over the latest game updates, calling for a review bombing in protest. Although it’s been a stellar month for the new Warhammer 40K game, Saber Interactive has sparked frustration, leaving fans angry.

Glory can be earned—though not easily—but the respect that comes with it can vanish in the blink of an eye. That’s what’s happening now with Space Marine 2. The latest game in the Warhammer 40,000 universe had a highly successful launch in early September, with players feeling like kids in a candy store. Millions of sales, praise, and memes all surrounded the beloved project. However, with the first major content update, Saber Interactive made changes to weapon stats and other elements, sparking backlash from players who are now review bombing the game, shouting “Didn’t you learn anything from Helldivers 2?

Players who previously enjoyed the balanced gameplay of Operations mode were particularly upset by the new nerfs, which they argue have worsened the experience. The 4.0 update, which introduced a new PvE map, a new Tyranid enemy, and a Lethal difficulty mode, also made the game harder rather than more enjoyable on higher difficulties.

One of the most controversial changes was the reduced reaction time for perfect parries with swords and chainswords, making them less effective than before. Previously, these weapons were extremely popular for their ease in executing successful parries, especially over knives, which were essential on higher difficulties. Now, the change has upset many players who feel that the adjustments were unnecessary and have ruined a key combat mechanic.

The Community Takes Aim at Saber Interactive

The community’s response has been overwhelmingly negative on platforms like Reddit, Discord, and Steam. One player declared, “STOP THE NERFING, LET US HAVE FUN!” Another user criticized the nerfs, stating, “What’s with all these unnecessary nerfs in a power fantasy game?

The developers acknowledged that the changes were intended to increase difficulty, as they felt Operations mode had become too easy after the last patch. They assured fans that they are listening to feedback and will continue to adjust the game’s balance in the future. This promise has calmed some players, but many are demanding immediate fixes.
