The basics of the Elden Ring Nightmare are quite simple. At the iconic Roundtable Hold, players can choose to go on an expedition with three other players by choosing one of the Nightfarers. When the game is released, there will be eight, but only four will be available in the demo. Each will have unique special abilities before being thrown into one of the game’s maps, where they must survive for three days. At the end of the third day, the team can fight one of the bosses and be rewarded with relics, which represent the game’s permanent upgrade system. These improve characters with various perks. The relics can be earned even if the team does not make it to the third day and defeat the boss, so players still get something out of participating in the expeditions.

Elden Ring Nightreign will be released on May 30 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One; Limgrave’s procedurally generated world is called Limveld this time around, and while it’s possible to play solo, FromSoftware strongly recommends co-op play.
