Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Mod Removes Save Restrictions for Players Who Want More Freedom

Many players have already dived into the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Warhorse Studios’ open-world RPG has been a resounding success, selling over a million copies in less than 24 hours and surpassing the first installment’s record on Steam. However, one aspect of the game has divided players: the restrictive save system, which, like in the original game, only allows saving in specific situations—either by sleeping in a bed, paying for a room at an inn, or using “brandy” as a consumable save item. Now, a new mod lets players save whenever and wherever they want.

Just like its predecessor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 employs an autosave system that activates after completing key objectives, alongside a manual save system tied to specific mechanics. Players can save their game by sleeping in their own bed, renting one at an inn, or visiting a bathhouse. Additionally, consuming “brandy” allows for saving, but aside from the owned bed, all these options require travel and in-game currency.

This mod unlocks unlimited saving in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

While the save system isn’t the most complex, it has been a point of frustration for players who prefer a more flexible approach. The Unlimited Saving II mod offers a solution by completely removing save restrictions. Like its predecessor for the original game, this version allows players to save at any moment without using any resources. Unlike other similar mods, Unlimited Saving II also does not disable achievements, making it an attractive option for those who want convenience without sacrificing progress tracking.

However, the mod’s creator has noted that Unlimited Saving II does not override the game’s default restrictions in certain situations, such as important narrative sequences or active combat. Players are advised to double-check that their saves have been properly recorded to avoid any issues.

As expected, this mod has sparked debate in the Kingdom Come community. Some argue that the original save system is an integral part of the survival experience, while others appreciate having the option to save freely. Ultimately, the choice is in the hands of the players, and those who prefer more flexibility can now enjoy the game with just a single click.
