Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Expansion Introduces Tons of New Cyberware Options

Cyberpunk 2077 players now have a brand-new expansion to enhance their experience, delivering major upgrades to their arsenal of destruction.

Some players might prefer a more stripped-down approach to Cyberpunk 2077, going through Night City without implants—but let’s be real, the game is at its best when you’re kitted out with advanced cyberware and futuristic weapons. After all, isn’t the whole point of being a cyberpunk merc to push your body to the limits of technology? Who wouldn’t want retractable blades slicing out of their arms?

That being said, the base game’s cyberware selection can start to feel repetitive after multiple playthroughs. Fortunately, there’s a solution. Neuralware – Chipware Expansion, a brand-new mod available right now on NexusMods, introduces a wealth of new cybernetic enhancements to shake up your next adventure in Night City.

The mod’s official description teases: “Enhance your neural system with 40+ new implants, unlock devastating techniques, and manage a new neural capacity resource that adds depth to your cyberware choices.”

This mod is packed with so many new features that listing them all would take all day, but you can check out the full details on its official NexusMods page. What’s important to know is that it seamlessly expands the game’s cybernetic arsenal, making it feel more alive in a world where technological evolution is constant—sometimes even to its own detriment.

Beyond the expanded customization, this mod also breathes new life into the game’s combat system, which can sometimes feel repetitive—especially if you’re steamrolling enemies with overpowered builds like Sandevistan. And with Cyberpunk 2077 2 (or whatever CD Projekt Red ends up calling the sequel) officially in development, it’s exciting to imagine what new cyberware options might be available in the next installment.

Imagine decking out your character to match the raw power of Adam Smasher, armed to the teeth with built-in weapons that activate in the heat of battle. This fan expansion gives us a taste of what a fully cybernetically enhanced merc could feel like in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.
