Even though the Spanish studio’s release isn’t far off, a demo of Blades of Fire is arriving soon.
Unveiled only a few months ago, this narrative-driven fantasy action game focuses entirely on the weapons you use — and how well you can wield them. In Blades of Fire, you won’t be able to rely on stat buffs or late-game overpowered weapons to survive tough encounters. It’s your mastery and skill with each weapon that will carry you to the end. The game made waves at the Game Developers Conference (GDC), about a month after its announcement. MercurySteam managed to keep the project impressively under wraps.
If you’re eager to try Blades of Fire before launch, you’re in luck. Developer MercurySteam and publisher 505 Games have confirmed that a demo will arrive “soon” on all platforms — just ahead of next week’s official release. The studio even released a short Twitter video featuring fan clips expressing their desire to play a demo before diving into the full experience.
The Spanish team is granting that wish, although they haven’t yet announced a precise release date for the demo. Given how close the launch is, and that demos usually precede full games, we’ll likely see it within a week at most. That said, there have been cases where demos surfaced months after a game launched — but this doesn’t seem to be one of them.
The release date of Blades of Fire won’t be pushed — this isn’t La Quimera, as we’ve reported before. The launch is locked in for May 22, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
