Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Action-Comedy FUBAR Returns – Season 2 Trailer and Release Date Revealed

MOVIE NEWS – After a two-year hiatus, FUBAR is finally making its comeback, with Netflix unveiling the first trailer for Season 2 along with a June 12 release date. The series, which debuted in 2023, stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as CIA agent Luke Brunner, who has kept his true identity hidden from his daughter, played by Monica Barbaro. The twist? She’s also an agent, and neither knew about the other. Season 2 sees the arrival of Carrie-Anne Moss, who brings even more chaos to the mix.

The brand-new trailer promises all the explosive action fans have come to expect, and by all accounts, it looks like it’ll deliver. Schwarzenegger and Barbaro are back in full force, joined by Jay Baruchel and Fortune Feimster, who lend some comedic edge. Meanwhile, Carrie-Anne Moss appears as Greta Nelson, an East German spy and Brunner’s former flame. You can watch the trailer and read the official Season 2 synopsis below:

“Luke Brunner is a seasoned CIA agent who was on the verge of retirement. After rescuing another operative, who turned out to be his own daughter, he’s back in the field and now faces new enemies. One of them is an old lover, and she may not only destroy the world, but ruin his life first.”

Though fans usually love a classic action romp – especially with Schwarzenegger involved – FUBAR has sparked a divided response. Season 1 holds a “rotten” 50% score on Rotten Tomatoes, though its audience Popcorn score is a bit better at 68%. Sergio Pereira from CBR called it “a show that struggles to be truly compelling,” while RT user Jeremy S praised it as “fast-paced, funny, and exactly what you’d expect from a Schwarzenegger show.”

Despite mixed reviews, online reactions to the Season 2 trailer have been largely positive. On X, @DogeGirl321 labeled it a “Major W,” and @Mark_KOP wrote that they “can’t wait for the new season.” Many other comments echo that excitement, with June shaping up to be a big month for FUBAR fans.

Sure, the show isn’t for everyone, but that’s the point – it delivers exactly what it promises: a mix of action and humor that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s not art-house TV, nor is it parody. It’s pure escapism for viewers who just want to unwind. All eight episodes of Season 2 drop June 12 on Netflix, and Season 1 is still available in full.
