MOVIE NEWS – Bob Odenkirk’s reluctant antihero is back, and the team behind Nobody wants much more than just a sequel. With Nobody 2 on the horizon, the creators are already exploring ways to turn Hutch’s world into a full-fledged franchise — if the box office delivers.
The story of Hutch Mansell may have started in 2021, but the journey is far from over. The team behind Nobody is working to expand the character into a broader cinematic universe. Bob Odenkirk returns in Nobody 2, and if all goes well at the box office, it could just be the second step in a much larger plan.
“I hope there are still many stories to tell about Hutch Mansell and his family,” said producer Kelly McCormick in an interview with The AU Review. “Right now, we’re figuring out what directions we can take. For me, the first movie was about losing faith in the American Dream. You settle in, but eventually you realize it’s not what you wanted. You miss the chaos, the thrill — and it turns out you’re not the best father, or the best husband. Maybe not the best at anything. So how do you reclaim control of your life? That hits home for a lot of people. Hutch is that awakening everyman. In the sequel, he goes on a vacation with his family after everything they’ve been through — but instead of rest, they get another massive conflict.”
Nobody 2 could become more than just a follow-up — it may launch a whole new era of grounded, character-driven action stories with real stakes and real consequences.
