Torn Banner Studios’ game will soon leave Early Access and arrive on consoles as well.
In the brutal new Survival Mode, players must hold the line against swarming hordes to buy time for civilian rescues, where every tactical decision means the difference between life and permanent death. This complements the core Scenario Mode, in which Responders push deep into infected territory to scavenge gear, complete critical objectives and extract vital supplies. Since the last free weekend one year ago, the team has introduced additional difficulty options to help players ease into the apocalypse, including “Casual Difficulty with Objective Completion Respawn,” a dedicated Tutorial Gym where newly recruited Responders can practice firearms and melee combat, and “Early Individual Extraction” if the cooperative squad drops below 50% strength.
Torn Banner has also introduced character customization, allowing players to alter the appearance and traits of their Responder before exploring two completely new maps. Melee weapons have been reworked in terms of damage, stability, speed and reach, while the overall weapon progression has also been improved. Most importantly, however, the threat itself has evolved: zombies no longer fixate on individuals and instead prioritize sound detection, making the experience more demanding and more tactical.
Among the features and updates introduced since the April 2025 free weekend are the addition of the Tutorial Gym, new difficulty settings and a broader selection of challenge modifiers, including Casual and Classic variants with flexible respawn rules. Broadway and Hospital have entered the map rotation, giving players new environments to master and adding more variety to each run, bringing the total number of maps to five. Match reconnect has also arrived, making it easier for players to get back into the action. It is another addition that gives players more ways to personalize their experience and express their identity.
Melee combat and firearms have undergone major overhauls, and throwing mechanics have also been added, resulting in more dynamic, responsive and impactful moment-to-moment gameplay. The undead threat has continued to evolve with the introduction of new zombie types, including Prime Runners and Army Reserves, bringing fresh pressure, unpredictability and combat variety. The wider system has been reworked to create more meaningful long-term engagement, with new perk slots, a broader progression overhaul and economy changes intended to improve player choice and reward flow. More than 8,000 bug fixes have been implemented, significantly improving the game’s quality and performance.
No More Room in Hell 2 launched in Early Access on PC on October 22, 2024, and will leave that phase this summer. It will hold a free weekend on Steam from April 30 through May 4. It is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series this summer, with Green Man Gaming handling the console release.
