Warhorse Studios has announced a collaboration with Balatro and is encouraging players to find a peculiar jester in a new quest. The encounter is more than a playful crossover, as it unlocks a reward that could completely change the way Kingdom Come: Deliverance II’s most beloved minigame works. Henry’s next game of Farkle may become considerably more predictable as a result.
It has been more than a year since Kingdom Come: Deliverance II launched, but the game is still growing, and its latest major addition is a collaboration with Balatro. At first glance, introducing LocalThunk’s famously addictive game into Warhorse Studios’ realistic medieval RPG may seem like an odd fit, but the developers have found a way for the two worlds to genuinely come together. The result could dramatically change the dynamics of what many players consider the RPG’s best minigame.
Warhorse Studios is still keeping the Balatro collaboration somewhat mysterious, but its post on X suggests that everything revolves around Farkle, the dice game that has captivated players in the medieval setting. “A jester has started hanging around outside Hangman’s Halter tavern, shouting about a strange new game. Will you join our new quest inspired by Balatro?” the post reads, accompanied by a dice emoji.
Players will therefore have the opportunity to find a jester resembling the character seen so often on Balatro cards and learn about the strange new gameplay twist he brings to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Farkle fans have especially good reason to speak with him, because his quest unlocks a reward that many will appreciate during future playthroughs. We will reveal exactly what that reward is in the next paragraph, but anyone who would rather keep the mystery intact and discover the item personally should stop reading here.
Players who speak to Balatro’s jester and play Farkle with him will receive a new die for future sessions of the minigame. One of its faces features LocalThunk’s iconic character, and whenever that side is rolled, players can choose what score it represents. If a powerful combination is only one point away, the new die can easily be used to turn the situation to the player’s advantage. Henry can also receive a Balatro-themed badge that allows him to change the outcome of one die once per game.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Has Sold 6 Million Units
Beyond the Balatro collaboration, Warhorse Studios has another major reason to celebrate: Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has sold more than 6 million copies since release. That is an important milestone for the studio, and the number could continue to rise significantly in the coming days, as the series is currently discounted as part of the Steam Summer Sale.
PC players can now buy the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance with an 80% discount, while the sequel is available at 60% off its full price. Anyone who has not yet started Henry’s story can therefore do so more cheaply now, with a new quest waiting that could also reshape future games of Farkle.
