We’ve learned several new details about the next project from Frogwares, the Ukrainian studio. The game is essentially in the home stretch.
Digital pre-orders are now available for The Sinking City 2, the sequel to the Lovecraft-inspired survival horror game. The Standard Edition is priced at $50/€50. It includes the base game and the Chthonic Arsenal Pack as a pre-order bonus. There’s also the $55 Deluxe Edition, which includes the base game, the Chthonic Arsenal Pack, and the Arkham Field Kit. Finally, the $60 Premium Edition includes Holloway Manor and 24 hours of early access.
The Chthonic Arsenal Pack provides mythical weapons to help you fight back against the abyss. Wield the Chthonic Arsenal, which includes the Shale Mary handgun, the Breakwater shotgun, and the Tektite Tommy SMG. Each weapon has its own unique appearance and features. The Arkham Field Kit adds three outfits for the main character: The Anatomist, The Witness, and Heretic Heraldry. It also includes three Dream Essences to help you learn your first Talent early, as well as a Resource Pack containing a helpful mix of ammo, healing items, and crafting materials to assist you in your early steps in the city. On the cliffs outside the city of Arkham, Holloway Manor keeps its lights low. The house belongs to an old family whose history has turned to occult practices—the kind that Lovecraft would trace through buried lineages and never-ending rites. Rooms interlock like a puzzle box, dusty heirlooms open doors, and the house rewards your curiosity with hidden paths. Complete the task, and the Bucking Bronco revolver that you claim will stay with you in the main game.
“Seeing the pre-orders go live is a surreal milestone for us. It means the game is basically at the finish line, which is not something we were always sure would happen. The Sinking City 2 is our most ambitious game yet, developed under circumstances that most studios never have to plan for, by a team working remotely across Ukraine and beyond. Even now, with about two months until the launch, we made the decision to transition the entire project to Unreal Engine 5.8 because we believe the performance improvements are worth the effort for our players. Our pricing follows the same philosophy. While most survival horror games launch at $60 or more today, we’re launching at $49.99 because we want to be fair and give as many people as possible the chance to step into Arkham with us,” wrote Frogwares publishing director Sergiy Oganesyan in the press release.
