Marvel’s Wolverine director Mike Daly says Insomniac Games has learned to live with online criticism and will not change direction for every loud complaint. He believes the intense reactions actually prove how deeply players care about Logan’s new PS5 adventure.
Marvel’s Wolverine is now less than a month away, and online attention around Insomniac Games is growing rapidly. Expectations are high after the studio’s previous successes, while fans dissect every new gameplay clip, development detail and business decision across social media.
Daly told The Gamer that the critical tone does not surprise the team. Insomniac has spent years building major PlayStation games for a vast audience, so heated internet debate has become an occupational reality. In his view, it can even be considered a “good problem” because the strongest reactions often come from genuine interest and passion.
Marvel’s Wolverine Will Not Chase Every Expectation
The game has faced complaints from several directions. Some fans fear a more linear experience after the open worlds of Marvel’s Spider-Man, while others have connected the project to broader concerns about PlayStation’s future support for physical media. Daly nevertheless made it clear that the developers will not follow criticism that conflicts with the creative vision they have established.
Insomniac’s goal remains to deliver the strongest Wolverine game it can, with brutal combat suited to the character and a story built around Logan’s complicated personality. At this late stage of development, the team is primarily focused on polish, bug fixes and the final stretch of pre-launch communication.
Marvel’s Wolverine launches for PlayStation 5 on September 15. Whether the studio’s confidence will win over its doubters remains to be seen, but Insomniac clearly has no intention of reshaping Logan’s adventure around every passing social-media controversy.
