TECH NEWS – Did Nvidia have one good start with the Blackwell architecture? If so, we don’t remember it.
No RTX 5000 GPU has been immune to the black screen problem. The RTX 5060 Ti has failed multiple times for various users, and we often hear about it. The RTX 5060 is a recent release and may meet a similar fate. There are a number of complaints on social media and Nvidia forums, and the problem seems quite complex. Some users have been unable to get their systems to work normally due to unexpected crashes or the black screen that affects all RTX 5000 cards. This black screen can appear at any time, regardless of the card’s workload. In some cases, users can’t access the BIOS screen, which is bizarre.
According to an Nvidia representative, troubleshooting involves several steps. If the problem persists, users should send the crash dump file to Nvidia. Nvidia has released new firmware in the hope of fixing the black screen problem experienced by RTX 5060 owners. This update is the GPU UEFI Firmware Update Tool v2.0 and is designed to update GPU firmware for users experiencing problems when rebooting their system. According to Nvidia, this update should only be applied if the black screen appears after rebooting; therefore, it is not a permanent fix for all users. Many people have failed to boot even the first time after installing the RTX 5060 Ti. Some reported that the GPU did not work with the installed driver, while others said that they could only boot the operating system in safe mode.
Nvidia recommended the following steps to fix the problem: Turn off the computer completely before booting. Check that the BIOS on your motherboard is up to date, and ensure that you are using UEFI boot and not Legacy or CSM. Boot with a different graphics source, such as another graphics card or integrated graphics. After powering on the system, wait for the operating system to load with the graphics driver installed. Why does this always have to happen nowadays?
