Tekken 7 is slowly improving… in its arcade form. Yesterday, Katsuhiro Harada, the franchise’s „father” figure announced an upcoming update for the arcade edition of the game. This will change the game title to Tekken 7: Fated Retribution. The update will bring new characters, costumes and updated graphics – the latter one isn’t that surprising because the game utilizes Unreal Engine 4, which still hasn’t been used to its maximum performance yet.
Why are we writing about this? Well, Tekken 6 also got an update (called Bloodline Rebellion), and the console version of the game was based upon the updated arcade edition. This is why we think Tekken 7 will follow the same route on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The surprise addition is a new character from the Street Fighter series: Akuma is going to join the battle as a playable character! According to Katsuhiro Harada, he will be perfectly implemented into Tekken‘s storyline. We have no idea how he can pull that off, but we’ll see soon. Going by the video below, he will pack a punch.
