Space Pirates Could Be Coming To No Man’s Sky?! [VIDEO]

No Man’s Sky has received its 19th update, and there’s no sign of slowing down…

Not even two months have passed since the launch of No Man’s Sky Sentinel, but the Hello Games team is still working flat out to bring players new content to invest dozens of hours in the space title. Today, they unveiled and released an update to the game called Outlaws, which focuses on introducing outlaws, but offers more than that.

In Outlaws, bandits and pirates have taken control of space stations across the universe…

… and use them as command centres for their crimes, which range from smuggling to attacks on neighbouring planets and settlements. Players have two options: join them to aid their activities or confront them using No Man’s Sky’s revamped combat system.

“Fortunately, you are not alone in this fight,” added Sean Murray. With Outlaws, players can now assemble their own squadron of AI-controlled pilots who can relocate and join the skirmish as needed. Each teammate has their own skills and can be upgraded over time. A fleet management tool will also be introduced on the command ship.

Anything else to add? Yes, quite a lot! For the first time in two years, a new class of ships is being introduced to the space exploration video game: the Solar Starship. It’s a solar-powered spaceship found throughout the universe, but mostly in outlaws-controlled systems. You can read more about these and other new features not listed in the news on the No Man’s Sky blog.

Now the question is, what’s next? Let’s not forget that Hello Games has set an important date for the summer with the release of No Man’s Sky for Nintendo Switch, so the Japanese handheld console will soon join the other devices on which this great space game has been available for years.
