CD Projekt Red has released full details of the development for the next generation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

The full patch notes for the next-gen console release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition have been released.

CD Projekt Red previously highlighted the most significant changes to The Witcher 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, including support for ray tracing and a dedicated mode for 60 FPS gameplay.

It also confirmed different camera versions for exploration and combat. In addition, a new ULTRA+ setting will be added to the PC version. The developer has now released the official patch notes for the game update, detailing the changes.

The patch notes for the Complete Edition have been grouped into different categories. Some of these are specific to PC and next-gen consoles. CD Projekt Red has added ray-traced global illumination and environmental occlusion to this version. PC owners also have the option to enable ray-tracing reflections and shadows. In addition to 4K textures, the update includes various mods for Geralt, Yennefer, Triss, Ciri and others.

The patch note then describes the PC-exclusive “ULTRA+” mode, which improves the program’s graphics significantly.

It’s also confirmed that the Xbox Series S version of the game will not feature ray tracing, but fans can still take advantage of the high frame rate mode that targets 60 FPS gameplay.

Other platform-specific features include adaptive triggers. Also, support for haptic feedback on DualSense controllers and activity maps for the PS5 version. This is followed by a detailed section on the quality changes coming to the game. As well as some information on the improvements CD Projekt Red has made to the gameplay.

Fans should know that anyone who owns the game will receive the next-generation edition for free, regardless of which version they own. The update appears to be extensive, so surprisingly, CD Projekt Red isn’t charging for the improvements.
