Diablo IV: Comparisons From The Open Beta [VIDEO]

The open beta of Activision Blizzard’s new game, Diablo IV, has received three comparison videos from ElAnalistaDeBits.

One video compares Microsoft’s consoles (Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X), the second compares the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC quad, and the third compares Sony’s consoles (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro, PlayStation 5). The optimization seems to be good on all platforms. Still, the difference in loading times on PlayStation consoles shows a significant difference: around five seconds on PlayStation 5 and ten times that on PlayStation 4, fifty! On PlayStation 5, the resolution is 4K at 60 FPS, while on PlayStation 4, it’s 1080p at 30 FPS. On PlayStation 4 Pro, the resolution is slightly higher at 1188p.

On Xbox, there are more significant differences between console generations. On Xbox One, you get 900p resolution at 30 FPS. The Xbox One X has a higher resolution than the rival PlayStation 4 Pro (1440p) but still has a frame rate of 30 FPS. Diablo IV runs at 1440p on Xbox Series S, too, but at 60 FPS, while the Xbox Series X offers the expected 4K, 60 FPS performance. Loading times on the current-gen consoles are mostly the same, with the resolution on Xbox Series S just lower.

There is no DLSS 3 in the game on PC yet, but Activision Blizzard will include it for Diablo IV’s retail release. With an Intel Core i7-12700KF processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, DLSS 2 is more than enough to run around 145 frames per second at 4K resolution. So with a relatively new configuration, you should be able to get 60 FPS. Of course, the resolution depends on the processor and the graphics card. At 1080p, a 3-4-year-old machine will keep up, but server issues (which Diablo III also had to deal with at launch…) can still cause some unpleasant moments.

Diablo IV will be released on June 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
