EPIC ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW UK STUDIO EPIC GAMES UK

Epic has just announced its new UK development studio, which is actually based on a core made from its long-term associate Pitbull Studio in the country.

Epic Games UK will stay in Sunderland, though all three offices are recruiting and looking for people such as animation programmer, developer relations engineer, developer relations technical artist, engine community manager, engine programmer, support engineer and tools programmer.

Pitbull has previously developed Unreal Engine, and lent its development talents to work on Gears of War: Judgment and Silent Hill: Downpour. As part of Epic Games UK, the team will now focus on aiding Unreal Engine 4 development in Europe.

“Pitbull has been essential in helping us develop the best tools and technology for building the next generation of games,” said Epic founder Tim Sweeney. “They’ve been invested in UE4‘s evolution since its early beginnings, and their dedication is unflinching.”

Becoming Epic Games UK was the next logical step in our relationship with Epic,” added studio boss Robert Troughton. “We’re looking forward to expanding our amazing team here in the UK.”

Epic is currently working on a new title in the Unreal Tournament series, as well as survival game Fortnite.
