Black Friday: Who won this year?

Black Friday happened on last Friday – on this day, retailers cut their prices. Sometimes, they drop the prices to such a ridiculous low that many people end up storming the shops, most of the time resulting in accidents due to stomping each other, just to get that one final cheap item to buy. Talk about consumer societies…

This year’s results are now here. In 2014, the Xbox One won, but according to Infoscout’s data, the PlayStation 4 took a big lead, but not in all ages. Let’s look at the details.

In the millennials, the PlayStation took no less than 48 percent of the market, followed by 32% of Xbox and 19% of Nintendo, respectively. (What kind of naming is this?) The middle-aged market is hugely different, because the Xbox took 37 percent, followed by PlayStation‘s 33 and Nintendo‘s 30 percent, respectively.

This means that the younger players are mostly preferring the PlayStation 4, but the older people spread out a bit more evenly to the Xbox One and the Wii U as well.

Anikó, our news editor and communication manager, is more interested in the business side of the gaming industry. She worked at banks, and she has a vast knowledge of business life. Still, she likes puzzle and story-oriented games, like Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments, which is her favourite title. She also played The Sims 3, but after accidentally killing a whole sim family, swore not to play it again. (For our office address, email and phone number check out our IMPRESSUM)
