Sony Made A Brave Prognosis For The PS4 This Year

Sony is in a winning position at the moment without a doubt. The Xbox One isn’t able to provide a constant challenge for the PlayStation 4, which has its sales boosted even further by the just recently released Uncharted 4. The Japanese company has a somewhat brave prognosis for this year.

Sony says that by April 2017, the PlayStation 4 will have over sixty million sales. After the current figure of ~40 million at the moment, it’s easy to count that Sony expects the PS4 to have 20 million sales for the business year of 2016. It means an 8.3 percent raise from last year.

These numbers mean nothing if we don’t compare them to something else. The PlayStation 3 had 80 million sales up to November 2013 (in 7 years total) while the PS4 would be out on the market for roughly 3.5 years in April 2017.

The PlayStation 4 might be able to join the Big Five and have over 100 million consoles sold. The PS2, the DS, the GB/GBC duo, the PS1, and the Wii might be joined by the PS4 in the future.
