Do You Own An Android Phone? It Might Have Security Flaws!

Almost 900 million (!) phones are affected by security flaws, which could open the „gates” for the hackers because of QuadRooter!

Checkpoint’s researchers found out that Android phones with Qualcomm processors could have software that might result in vulnerabilities!

Michael Shaulov, head of mobility product management at Checkpoint, said that they took six months to reverse engineer Qualcomm‘s code to find the problems. The flaws were found in software that handles graphics and in code that controls communication between different processes running on a phone. With the vulnerabilities, the hacker can gradually take over the phone and access all the data.

Checkpoint handed over all the information to Qualcomm, who in return patched the bugs, and started to produce fixed versions of CPUs. Mobile makers and operators also got the patches.

These phones are affected:

BlackBerry Priv and Dtek50
Blackphone 1 and Blackphone 2
Google Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P
HTC One, HTC M9 and HTC 10
LG G4, LG G5, and LG V10
New Moto X by Motorola
OnePlus One, OnePlus 2 and OnePlus 3
Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge
Sony Xperia Z Ultra
